Campanula Musica was founded by music enthusiasts from Berlin together with Georg Faust, the longtime First Principal Cellist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
The association holds concerts and workshops for the Campanula, where it’s fascinating sound can be researched and tested.
The concerts also serve as an opportunity to explore and develop a special repertoire for the Campanula. In addition, the association promotes and supports young talented musicians to discover and experience the new instrument.
The association also contributes to the funding of musical projects with the new instrument.
Of special interest to Campanula Musica is the revival of improvisation as part of the education of classical musicians. Creative freedom inspires the study and playing of classical works as well as opening up new concert forms.
As a member of Campanula Musica you will be invited to all concerts and events.
The Executive Board
Wolfgang Lohmann – Chairman
„I love to support the club and its aim to make the family of Campanula instruments known. These cellos, violas, and violins with sympathetic strings tap new soundscapes; at the same time they can build a bridge to early music, where improvisation was a necessity and delightfully sounding string instruments with sympathetic strings were in fact being played. „
Wolfgang Lohmann worked for many years in an international company in the IT industry and held management positions in Germany and in other European countries. Later, he established a private consulting firm.
Hearing and experiencing music is for him a fascinating balance to his technical professional world.
Reinhold Lauer- Treasurer
„The Campanula is exciting and I am pleased to be able to help generate interest in this new tool for students and those interested in music through this association.“
Reinhold M. Lauer holds degrees in business administration and public accounting. Until 2013 he was Managing Partner of an auditing firm that also advises numerous clubs and associations. He was also for many years treasurer of the Rotary Club.
Georg Faust – Artistic adviser
„The Campanula is a new medium that can give musicians and listeners fascinating musical experiences. The mission of Campanula Musica is exploring the musical possibilities of these instruments, and especially to be committed to the support of young musicians.“
